Restitution traning after yesterday's race: I felt very weak, but my DSQ on control 1 was my own responsibility! I crossed the path just above the junction fore the control, then made a parallel mistake which I only recovered from after finally finding #2.
The marker tape was missing on 6 & 7 but I was confident I was in the right spot on both of them.

More or less as good a race as I'm capable of in my current shape. No serious mistakes anywhere, but I did lose some time into #11 when I didn't dare to approach to top of the cliff before I knew I had to be beyond the end.

Mass start forked Night O, hit the wrong first control without losing significant time. 40 sec lost inside the control circle on #2, then about the same at #3 before the easy fourth control.
Bad mistake on #5 where I stopped too high up in the hillside, then better from there on.

No proper running training for a year and a half means that I'm barely making forward progress in deep heather. The orienteering was mostly OK, no major mistakes.

I've been unable to run properly for the last two months, so by now even though the knee pain is manageable, my legs feel like stiff logs. It did not help that I (as the first starter) didn't see the path junctions towards first control 1 and then control 3.
My detailed orienteering into each control was close to perfect since I had lots of time to check my map.
When I hit the path halfway to #5 I thought I was a bit further north, so I ran south to find the path junction. When that didn't turn up I realized where I had to be and took a bearing to the control which was easy.
The area NW of control 5 was completely destroyed by windfall, it might have been better to run along the direct line or slightly to the right of it?
