Gate-O (16-01-2014)

Ran during heavy snow fall, about 25 cm fresh powder outside the plowed roads!

1. Correct route choice, but when I arrived I had problems locating the control. It had been vandalized, with the string to the flag broken, but thanks to the reflex tabs on the (mini) flag I found it under the snow and hung it back up. I did not locate the EMIT unit however, I hope the organizers found it. :-(

2. Almost transport, easy route choice.

3. Interesting control with some tricky stairs between the apartment blocks!

4. Another positioning control, used the same stairs to get back up.

5. Horrible route choice! The medium green was OK even with all the powder snow, but the "clearing" at the end was an inpenetrable mess of windfall, costing me a minute or two, then I misread the map and took the tunnel underneath the first building without realizing that it didn't end until after the second, so I had to run back to the control.

6. OK.

7. Another interesting leg, but with the deep snow I don't think the alternatives to the left of "Sykehuset" (Bærum Hospital) would work out.

8 & 9: OK.

(I had planned to do the B course as well, but I ran out of time and stopped after the first round.)
