Ås by Night & Fog Cup #3 (10-01-2017)

Same plan as for the last event in this series, i.e. tough route choices and solid orienteering:

1,2 & 3: Yes, I still know how to do this. My running speed suffers a lot with full body wool underwear and SealSkin semi-dry socks but at least I didn't freeze and the 1:7500 map printout was quite readable.

4: Slightly wrong direction but I knew that I was too far right when I hit the light green flat area after the path, so I turned left towards the control. About 75 m before it I hit the open yellow patch, the problem was that a new logging area (which was hinted at on our race maps) extended this much further north. I didn't understand this and thought I was too far west and turned away from the control. I lost about 5-6 minutes here.

5: Good.

6: Run north, which I did, then turn slightly left and hit the ridge, right? Instead I followed the right-side hillside in about 50 degrees off course and spent a long time before I realized what I had done. Another 5 minutes down the drain.

7-13: Pretty much OK except for hitting an unmapped track between 10 and 11 which I first assumed to be the path, then had to cut back when I realized my error.
