Haraløkka Night-O (2021-10-27)

Fun Night-O race in the Veritas Fall series, this was a very good area for it:

OK to 1, 2 & 3, then on my way to #4 I got confused by a lot of unmapped track segments and left the path too soon, then when I understood that I found it quickly, but then I got dis-oriented going to #5 (folded the map badly and was orienering to the wrong control for a little while, so that when I faced the school to the north I had no idea what I was looking at! Lost a minute+ here.

#6 was OK, ran the best route to #7 but this boulder and control was in reality placed further north, i.e. a mapping error (this is pretty obvious from all the Livelox tracks which all have to move further north.) I lost 30-45 s.

#8 was also bad mapping/control placement, here the flag was too far to the NE but it was visible enough that I didn't lose any time.

My next serious mistake was to #10 when I didn't find the right path south from the ditched flat area, my detour under the cliffs cost another minute.

OK to #11, then another path system mistake back to the central control.

Leaving the butterfly wings I ran OK to the 6 last controls. I ended up in 2nd place, almost 2 min behind Vidar Benjaminsen and half a minute in front of Knut E Helland, two friends I have known and competed against for at least 40 years. :-)
