OBIK P10 / AB 3 (05.06.2018)

No speed today, but since this terrain is infamous as the worst in the Oslo region, I was very happy that the course planner had found some quite nice parts for us to run through.

I got a bit confused by the contour drawing just before the circle on #1, so I made a little wobble costing 20-30 sec.

Very good to #2 & #3, no hesitation and good flow.

Approaching #4 I spotted an obvious dot knoll on the ridge SE of the control so I ran via this point to check it, minimal time loss.

Very easy to #5, approximate compass direction to #6 and contour reading to #7.

I hadn't found any obvious route to #8, the route I took was severely impacted by large new logging areas: One from the road to the first hill with the index contour, and then a huge one starting south of this hill and covering the entire hillside until I was just 100m from the control.

It is possible that if I had know about this I would have followed the road much further and approached from almost directly north, or I could have taken the path and then gone just south of #2, in the light green which I knew was quite runnable.

The new logging just north of #9 had made that area almost impassable, covered as it was by heaps of branches and cut down bushes.

OK forest orienteering from this point, I hit the remaining controls nicely.
