Oslo City Cup Finale (2015-05-05)

Individual start in the final this year due to missing two of the qualifying rounds.

Pretty good flow to the first 9 controls.

Turned the wrong (left) way towards #10 when I had detour around a big patch of windfall, so after winning the first 9 splits I lost 25 sec here.

Hesitated a bit towards #11 but hit the control cleanly.

OK to #12.

I had problems reading the map in the tennis court area, i.e. 13-15:

First I didn't see the faint red line indicating that the direct route to #13 was blocked, this cost me about 10 sec, then #14 was transport:

The real trap was 14-15! I really think that the mapper should have used "impassable fence" symbols instead of just "wall" alongside #15, to me the line looked to be too thin to designate an impassable wall. I lost 25 sec here!

In total about 1 min time loss, this is of course far too much on a sprint race like this, but the good news was that my running shape is slowly getting better, at least when the terrain is as nice as it was here. I did notice that my club-mate Ragne W who won D13-16 beat me though. :-)
