JK 1975 (1975-03-29)

My mother recently found this map, I can honestly say that I don't remember anything from the race, except that it was close to Reading.

I do remember we had a warmup race one or two days before, at which time I searched for several minutes for a flag hidden in the middle of a tiny thicket. The local/British orienteers told me afterwards that the control was easy since they knew it had to be hidden in the densest vegetation around. :-)

Despite having that experience I obviously still passed right by #4. :-(

On the leg from 7 to 8 it seems like I thought I was just outside (north of) the vegetation boundary on the map when in reality I passed alongside the map correction, resulting in a bad attack point.
