I used this race as a nice "warm-up" for a 3-hour MTB ride in Nordmarka, so I didn't push all out but still managed a pretty good effort:

1) The final slope up to the ridge in front of the control was quite rocky, it might have been just as fast to run around to the left of the ridge, taking the higher path.

2-6) OK, good flow and no misses or hesitations.

7) Two main route choices, left or right, plus the possibility of taking the road and the path that starts where the dirt road I used meets the road. The control would have been safer from above, but as long as I avoided any mistakes my route choice was probably optimal.

8) A small hesitation when I passed north of the last ridge and found an obvious knoll where the map just shows a small nose.

9-10) Both OK.

Up to here I had won every single leg.

11) An unmapped path tripped me up, it caused me to climb up on the knoll about 50 m before the control, costing about 10+ s, otherwise this was a nearly perfect race.

Knut : Hi, interestingly Emil Ahlbäck, who recently made his debut on the Norwegian WC-team, ran the same course as you. Possibly because his father Jeppe Hansson is in your (our) age class. He was only 5 minutes faster than you. Probably Emil made a small mistake to C7, else his race looks pretty clean from the leg times. Your race again confirms that you have found back your former high o-technical level. The only details that I don't quite agree to are the incorrect direction out of C3 and the bow to C8. I think straighter lines in these two places might have saved you a few seconds.
Terje Mathisen : The C3 problem was actually a tracking problem, not a direction mistake: In reality I just ran around a windfall, then followed the reentrant down to the path, i.e. I should have adjusted my track to show that I hit the path just after the boulder.

C8: Here I agree, I intended to run straight but found an indistinct path/track which I assumed would lead up to the paths midway on the leg, so I just followed it for a little while, then corrected my direction when I noticed that I was going slightly off-course. Perfect execution would probably have saved me 10-15 s.
