Very heavy pollen load today, tried to simplify the orienteering but failed miserably:
Just running to #1 to get started, then I took a safe route to #2 by passing above the dot knoll before contouring, but when I didn't spot the boulders 80m before the control I got worried and then I failed to see the flag when passing just above it. Lost about 30 sec.
OK to #3, the easiest control besides #1 & #10.
Another contouring task to #4, ended up a bit too high but hit the big boulder just underneath the control circle. When I couldn't see the boulder on my map I started searching and lost at least 2 min.
#5 was yet another contouring job, I really don't know how I ended up too low here, but the vegetation was too dense to really read the contours. 1.5 to 2 min.
Another pure running leg to #6. The ride (ski track?) continued acrosss the big marsh and crossed the continuation of the indistinct path in the hillside.
#7 was OK except that when I hit the path I read the contours as if I was a bit south of the line and followed the path until the bend and narrow marsh made it obvious that I was too far north.
OK to #8 but the control was at least one or two contours above the long valley/reentrant.
It was too boring to take the road to #9 so I tried to find a good route underneath the cliffs and did OK.
Pure running to the last control and the finish.
