Ås by Night & Fog Cup #6 (07-02-2017)

Started first in -6C and 5-10 cm of fresh snow, so I took a very safe route to the first control and hit it perfectly without spotting it (no tracks and fresh snow on the spruce trees reflected all my light back at me. When I came back to the same spot 5 min later Jo Inge helped me find it.

Due to this mishap I intentionally let Jo Inge run directly towards #2, I took a right-hand bend to locate the light green valley and followed this down to the control, but failed to spot this one either. When I saw Jo Inge who said he was standing on the path I turned around and found it a contour further down than the map seemed to indicate.

#3, 4, 5 and 6 were OK, towards #7 I had to walk all the way up to the top of the knoll and the control was located further south than I expected because I thought I had missed the first path junction after the hill.

This misconception towards #7 lead me to return a bit too far north instead of going straight to #8.

On #9 I did a parallel mistake, leaving the path by the second cairn believing I was on the first.

#10 was another horrible control, I dropped 7-8 minutes here even though I had perfect control almost into the circle. :-(

The rest was OK.
